Designing a Bathroom that is Spa Inspired |
A spa getaway is great for someone who is stressed from life events or just needing a break from the daily grind. Many people plan vacations around trips to the spa. They may book a trip to a resort that offers spa services. In some instances, hotels have been build around the idea of spending several days enjoying a spa environment. There may be fitness classes, body treatments, delicious, healthy moods, and plenty of opportunity for relaxation and reflection. Just a couple of days is usually all people need to recharge their inner battery and feel better about thing. However, these spa vacations can be very expensive. You may be able to afford a few night’s stay at one of the resorts, but if the activities and services cost more, it can really tax the bank account. What if you are worn out and you want to indulge your body and spirit but cannot afford it? Try bringing that spa environment to your doorstep. Your bathroom can be serene and comfortable, creating an environment much like a high end resort. Your walk in shower can be an herbal steam room and your walk tub will give you a place to sit and relax while you enjoy the benefits of steam and herbs.
In addition to creating your own personal steam room, fill the bathroom with luxury items. Add a bath pillow for when you are soaking in the water and include Epsom salts and essential oils when soaking. In many ways, soaking in a hot bathtub while inhaling scented oils can be as relaxing as a full body massage. When you finish the bath, wrap yourself in a soft, cozy robe. Indulge yourself with scented lotion. Spending time with your eyes closed and a cool cloth over them can be very relaxing.
To really make this spa resort experience complete, plan some relaxing activities for your time. You can get up at dawn and go for a walk in the park, or enjoy a quiet sunset stroll at the end of the day. Plan to cook meals that are extra healthy and include things like fruits and vegetables. Drinking lots of water is important, especially if you are enjoying a steam room and moving your body. Try not to do anything too stressful. If you usually work out hard, try going slower and being kind to your body. Your body will not deteriorate if you skip your usual hour of hard cardio. The important thing is to relax and focus on your spirit and how your body feels. You can also spend time reading or writing, but avoid TV and technology. While you may think it can be tough to create a spa like environment in your home, it can be done, and it will save you a great deal of money while still providing the same benefits.
